Drop NYC ("The Drop," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Drop NYC mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.

1. Information We Collect

Device Identifier. We generate an anonymous device identifier using your device's vendor ID. This is used solely to associate your saved events, votes, and live updates with your device. We do not link this identifier to your real-world identity.

Location Data. With your permission, we collect your approximate location to show nearby events and calculate distances. Location data is processed on-device and is not stored on our servers or shared with third parties.

User-Generated Content. If you post live updates or photos to an event, that content is stored on our servers and visible to other App users. Updates are anonymous and associated only with your device identifier.

Display Name. You may optionally set a display name. This is stored locally on your device.

Push Notification Token. If you enable push notifications, we receive a notification token from OneSignal to deliver relevant alerts about events near you.

Neighborhood Preferences. During onboarding, you may select preferred neighborhoods. These preferences are stored locally on your device to personalize your feed.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personally identifiable contact information through the App.
• We do not require account creation or login.
• We do not collect payment or financial information.
• We do not track your browsing activity outside the App.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To display nearby free events based on your location.
• To let you save events, post anonymous live updates, and vote on updates.
• To send push notifications about relevant events near you.
• To improve and maintain the App.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Supabase — Database hosting and file storage for event data and user-generated content. Supabase Privacy Policy
• OneSignal — Push notification delivery. OneSignal Privacy Policy
• Apple Calendar / Google Calendar — Optional calendar sync initiated by you. No calendar data is sent to our servers.

5. Data Retention

Event data and associated live updates are retained for as long as they are useful to App users. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at the email address below.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and secure database hosting through Supabase, to protect your information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Request access to the data we hold about your device.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Opt out of push notifications at any time through your device settings.
• Revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy within the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
